A. Brett Scola, CPA/PFS, CFP® is Managing Director and co-leader of Pitcairn’s Washington, DC office. In this role, Brett advises families and single family offices on a range of complex wealth issues, including planning, taxes, investments, and fiduciary matters.
Brett has worked in the professional and financial services field for over 25 years, advising families, individuals, and privately-owned businesses. He has extensive experience in finance, tax, and accounting. Most recently, Brett served as a Family Wealth Advisor at GenSpring Family Offices, providing wealth advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth families. Prior to that, he was a Senior Wealth Planner at PNC Wealth Management and a Relationship Manager at Wachovia Wealth Management. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, previously serving as a Senior Tax Manager providing tax and consulting services to individuals and middle-market businesses.
Brett has a BBA in Accounting from Loyola University Maryland and a MS in Taxation from American University’s Kogod School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Personal Financial Specialist designation (CPA/PFS) through the AICPA. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Brett has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst Examination.
Outside of his professional duties, Brett is actively involved in the Washington, DC community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington DC Estate Planning Council and on the Board of Sponsors of the Loyola University Maryland Sellinger School of Business. He previously served as president and co-founder of Community Friends Foundation, Inc. and is a past president of the Loyola University Maryland Alumni Association. He is the chair of the audit committee and member of the finance committee at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
