Chief Financial Officer

Gaul. EEric W. Gaul, CFA, CFP®, CPA is Chief Financial Officer. A member of Pitcairn’s leadership team, Eric is responsible for directing Pitcairn’s overall financial strategy. He provides oversight to accounting, audit support/coordination, corporate credit and treasury management, financial/management accounting, and budget reporting.

Eric oversees the firm’s finance, tax, and family office services teams and leads the development and implementation of solutions for single family office clients. As a central resource to Pitcairn’s client service team, he develops and recommends processes to improve the efficiency and delivery of high quality services to all clients. In addition, Eric is instrumental in implementing transition plans and overseeing advice to single family office clients. Areas include: cost analysis; accounting and operational procedures; staffing; technology; legal structures; and review of overall office and client planning. Eric is a member of Pitcairn’s strategic planning team, Investment Strategy Committee, Investment Due Diligence Committee, Operating Committee, and Technology Committee.

Eric joined Pitcairn in 2002. Prior to serving in his current role, Eric has served in a variety of positions, most recently as Managing Director of Family Office Services where he coordinated all aspects of clients’ financial planning including: tax planning, trust and estate planning, retirement planning, insurance coverage, financing arrangements, and strategic planning. Prior to that, he held the position of Wealth Management Project Manager. In this role, he was instrumental in designing and implementing new processes when Pitcairn moved to its 100% open architecture investment platform. He also served as a Personal Financial Manager and Client Accountant, advising multi-generational families and preparing client analysis and financial plans. Before joining Pitcairn, Eric was a financial analyst at Arthur Andersen where he was responsible for running the daily work on audit engagements.

Eric earned his BS in Accounting at the University of Delaware. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Certified Public Accountant and holds a PA license in Life Insurance. Eric is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Philadelphia, and the Financial Planning Association. Eric serves on the Fund Board for Northern Children’s Services, a not-for-profit organization that supports the healthy development of children, while stabilizing their families to build stronger communities.
