J. Matthew McCarte, CFP®, CTFA is Relationship Manager. Matt leads one of Pitcairn’s relationship management teams, advising multi-generational families. He is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring long-term financial plans, focused on asset allocation, portfolio management, and tax planning, that meet clients’ short-term needs and long-term objectives. Matt interacts with clients on a daily basis and collaborates with members of Pitcairn’s tax, investments, planning, trust administration and operations teams to design and implement appropriate investment strategies and financial and estate plans. In particular, he focuses on succession planning, generational wealth transfer planning, strategic and tactical asset allocation, and tax optimization strategies to achieve the goal of wealth preservation for clients. Matt also works closely with families on matters of philanthropy through private family foundations, donor-advised funds and various other giving techniques. Matt is a member of Pitcairn’s Investment Strategy, Education, and Website Strategy committees.
Matt has more than 16 years of wealth management experience. He joined Pitcairn in 1998 to serve as a Financial Planner, developing financial plans and preparing financial reporting for clients before moving into the role of Personal Financial Manager. Prior to joining Pitcairn, Matt worked as a Financial Analyst and Retirement Plan Administrator at Pension and Financial Services, where he was responsible for helping clients with qualified plan testing, participant contributions, and asset allocation work.
Matt has a MBA in Finance from Villanova University and a BA in Economics from Ursinus College. He is a graduate of the Cannon Trust School. Matt holds the designations of Certified Financial Planner and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, and is a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers.
