Faces of Pitcairn

Vicky Freece
Director of OperationsMost careers rarely follow a straight line from A to B. Director of Operations, Vicky Freece, has had a career which has truly come full circle. Having worked at several firms, from sunny Florida to the suburbs of Philadelphia, Vicky has broad experience in client service, investments, and operations. She gives credit to her “better with age” experience to her multi-functional roles as well as the extraordinary multi-disciplinary team she currently manages. We took time during quarantine to touch base with Vicky and ask her a few questions.
What is it about Pitcairn that commands your extreme dedication and loyalty?
I am so grateful that Pitcairn lets me be me in a supportive environment. Pitcairn provides me the growth and experience to become a stronger, well rounded employee. In my current role, I get to collaborate across the organization with amazing colleagues to resolve situations in a fast-paced environment. Being able to think critically and solve the puzzles of complex client situations is right up my alley.
Tell us the story about your journey at Pitcairn and the learning you did along the way.
I started my journey at Pitcairn in 2006 as a Client Service Administrator serving on the frontline for our clients. A year later, I moved to the Investment team where I served as a Client Portfolio Administrator and Manager. After many years on the Investment team, I migrated back into Operations where I had started my career. The transition to Director of Operations was an opportunity I could not refuse and has provided me some of the most exciting days of my career! The zigzags I’ve experienced over my career has contributed to my versatility, better decision making, and increased efficiency.
What is it about the Operations team that has contributed to your success at Pitcairn?
The Operations team at Pitcairn is made up of the most dedicated and experienced professionals I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. They bring a set of skills that are invaluable to the success of Pitcairn. This multi-disciplinary group tackles objectives and achieves success through close collaboration. It would be impossible for me to function effectively without the efforts of the Ops team.
What are you looking forward to professionally post quarantine?
One of the things I admire about Pitcairn is that we are forward thinking and we pride ourselves being on the cutting edge. I am excited to be a part of creating and improving deliverables for our clients. We are in an ever-changing industry when it comes to technology.
Other than your love of cats, what other activities fill your soul?
It is true that I have a soft spot for the furry kind. Outside of my love of cats, I enjoy feeding the animals that come to my property, including deer, raccoons, and skunks (yes, I said skunks), as I have a soft spot for the forgotten ones as well. It has always been a dream of mine to own a farm with lots of animals! I also lend my time to animal causes and enjoy traveling, playing the slots (on the occasion I’m feeling lucky) and solving sudoku puzzles.
