So why accounting?

I had some familiarity with accounting since my Dad was the Chief Financial Officer of his Company. I took accounting as an elective in high school and it just clicked so I earned my degree in it. I began my career as an internal auditor and earned my Certified Internal Auditor designation before transitioning into more of the pure accounting side of things.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at Pitcairn?

Anything where I get to use Excel. I love when I can make a task more efficient with automation using an Excel formula.

You’ve been here for 18 years. What sets Pitcairn apart?

There is a sincere shared belief about continual improvement of all areas of the Company. It’s not just lip service. Our employees do an amazing job balancing the different yet related goals of having an exceptional client experience, an outstanding employee experience, and a successful financial experience for our owners.

What is something your colleagues don’t know about you?

The words people say constantly set off singing in my head. When our Chairman Leslie Voth says her “Change is not an option” quote, I hear David Bowie’s song “Changes.” When various other colleagues use the expression “Tell me more.” I start singing “Summer Loving” from Grease. I believe God intentionally made it that I can’t carry a tune, or I would always be bursting into song at inappropriate times.
