Director, IT & Security Information
Joan Hafer
Joan leads the firm’s IT operations, with a focus on ensuring a secure, compliant, and seamless technology experience across the organization.
Joan brings over 30 years of experience in information technology to her role as Director of Technology & Security Information. Throughout her career, she has held positions in corporate IT within a full-service marketing and public relations firm, supported nonprofit operations, and since 2012, has worked in the dynamic world of financial services. Her areas of expertise include infrastructure and networking, business continuity and incident response planning, information security, audit and regulatory compliance, and IT risk management.
At Pitcairn, Joan oversees daily IT infrastructure and user support, leads all audit and regulatory IT initiatives, and is responsible for shaping the firm’s cybersecurity policies and standards. She plays a key role in strategic IT projects, including the migration of legacy SharePoint sites to SharePoint Online.
A graduate of La Salle University, where she majored in computer science with a minor in mathematics, she is currently a candidate with (ISC)², the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.
What Joan enjoys most about working at Pitcairn is the company’s collaborative culture and the opportunity to make an immediate impact. Outside of work, she enjoys ice hockey—she’s a proud Flyers fan and former season ticket holder for several AHL and ECHL teams—and volunteers her time with an animal rescue organization.
