J. Matthew McCarte, CFP®, CTFAManaging Director
Matt is a devoted leader to one of Pitcairn’s Relationship Management teams, advising multi-generational families. He is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the financial plans that meet clients’ short-term needs and long-term objectives. He focuses on succession planning, generational wealth transfer planning, strategic and tactical asset allocation, and tax optimization strategies to achieve the goal of wealth preservation for clients.
Matt collaborates with members of Pitcairn’s Tax, Investment, Planning, Trust Administration and Operations teams to design and implement appropriate investment strategies and financial and estate plans. Matt is a member of Pitcairn’s Investment Strategy Committee.
Working thoroughly and respectfully, Matt also helps guide families on matters of philanthropy through private family foundations, donor-advised funds, and various other giving techniques.
With over 23 years of wealth management experience, Matt has a MBA in Finance from Villanova University and a BA in Economics from Ursinus College. He is a graduate of the Cannon Trust School. He holds the designations of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and is a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers. Prior to joining Pitcairn in 1998, Matt worked as a Financial Analyst and Retirement Plan Administrator at Pension and Financial Services.
As an avid woodworker, Matt enjoys the creative process of designing various projects, specifically finished carpentry. When he’s not busy in his workshop, he enjoys playing the guitar, running and sharing time with his wife and three children.
